Why We Do What We Do

🙌 Because Reliable Transportation Is More Than a Convenience — It’s a Lifeline.

At Keys of Grace, we believe that every person deserves a chance to pursue opportunity, provide for their family, and walk a path toward stability. Yet for many, the lack of reliable transportation is a silent but powerful barrier.

🚗 The Transportation Trap

Reliable transportation is essential for employment — it connects people to job opportunities, child care, education, and medical care. But the high cost of vehicle ownership creates a steep challenge for low- to moderate-income individuals.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (2023), transportation is the second-largest household expense after housing — consuming a disproportionate share of income for those who can least afford it.

  • Vehicle payments, insurance, maintenance, and fuel all add up.
  • Unlike homes, cars depreciate in value, making them poor financial investments.
  • Many rely on high-interest auto loans, leading to long-term debt cycles and financial stress.

⚖️ The Benefits Cliff: Living in Between

Many working individuals earn too much to qualify for assistance, but too little to meet basic needs. This is known as the “benefits cliff.”

  • They don’t qualify for housing, food, or healthcare subsidies.
  • They work hard — sometimes two jobs — yet still fall short.
  • Without help, they remain stuck: unable to save, invest, or advance.

❤️ Our Response: Grace in Action

At Keys of Grace, we’re committed to breaking this cycle by:

  • Providing reliable, donated vehicles to individuals and families in need
  • Funding repairs and preparation so these vehicles are safe and dependable
  • Offering Biblically grounded financial coaching through Financial Peace University

Our goal isn’t just relief — it’s restoration. Through this ministry, we help recipients move toward independence, financial peace, and renewed hope in Christ.
